Representation and accountability, everyone in Keller ISD deserves both from our school board. Single-member districts would ensure every neighborhood in Keller ISD has a dedicated voice on the school board who understands their community’s needs and challenges. Having board members who live in and are directly accountable to specific areas would lead to more responsive governance and better representation of our district’s families.

Our district includes people from across a wide area spanning many towns and zip codes. Single-member districts would ensure that perspectives from all parts of the district are considered. We all need someone who represents us at the table.

The level of personal investment and accountability that comes when Trustees serve where they live is unmatched by that of the current at-large system. Many communities within Keller ISD are suffering due to a lack of representation. Those communities deserve to have a seat at the table, and single-member districts are the way to ensure that no community within Keller ISD is left out of the conversation.

The ability to truly understand what’s best for an entire school district requires perspectives from across the district. These different perspectives will help provide a comprehensive understanding of challenges, improve collaboration, and allow for creative problem-solving. We need to focus on unity rather than uniformity, therefore I support having single-member districts.

As a teacher who has worked several KISD schools, I have seen firsthand how student needs vary across different areas of our district. I believe our school board elections should be structured in a way that ensures every part of our district has a fair opportunity to elect a representative who truly understands the needs of their community.
There are outstanding community members who want to serve but feel they have little chance of winning under the current at-large stystem. A system that allows each area to elect its own representative would give every community a stronger voice, ensuring that the unique needs of students, teachers, and families in all parts of Keller ISD are represented.
This change would bring a wider range of perspectives to the board, fostering innovation and improving the educational experience for all students. Additionally, it would create a more personal connection between board members and the families and educators they serve, leading to more responsive and effective leadership.
